Multi-Project Coordination: Distributed Governance at Kettidam
Synchronizing high-volume infrastructure projects from the UK through digital oversight and remote resource leveling.
The Remote Challenge
SITUATION Based in the UK, I was tasked with coordinating Kettidam’s portfolio of residential and industrial developments across Kerala, India. The distance amplified the risk of data fragmentation, vendor delays, and regulatory lapses.
TASK I had to establish a Remote Operational Bridge—ensuring design offices, site crews, and procurement teams remained in sync without the benefit of physical site presence.
Retrospective realization: The PRINCE2 Alignment
Managing a physical construction portfolio from a remote setting requires lean, effective governance. Looking back, this success was rooted in three PRINCE2 pillars:
Then: I moved the company away from manual logs to a real-time digital dashboard.
Now: I recognize this as a Communication Management Approach. It established a ‘Single Source of Truth’ that allowed me to monitor financial burn rates and site progress from the UK as if I were on-site.
Then: I set automated alerts for procurement delays and labor shortages.
Now: This was Management by Exception. Since I couldn’t be everywhere, I designed the system to only escalate “out-of-tolerance” issues to me, allowing site supervisors autonomy while I maintained strategic control.
Then: I enforced mandatory digital sign-offs for compliance at every build stage.
Now: These were Quality Gates. By requiring verified photographic and documentary evidence before authorizing the next stage of spend, I ensured 100% adherence to Kerala Building Codes from 5,000 miles away.

Professional Evolution
Kettidam proved that effective governance transcends geography. Managing a complex physical portfolio from a remote UK setting was the ultimate test of my Communication and Progress themes. It cemented my belief that with the right structure, distance is never a barrier to project success.
